BOYS DO FALL IN LOVE

CRIED. AGAIN.
The day started well. There were no classes. Me and my friends put on our party-loving faces and went over at Alonica's crib. I loved the place, the food, the people around. But something caught my eye and attention. I didn't mind it though. FRIENDS. They were friends.

I am cool and I continued watching the film being played on the TV. I got bugged because I was sitting just on the floor right next to THEM. I didn't know what happened but I just stood up. Got quiet. Sang sad songs and attacked the bed and hid my face under the pillows. My friends noticed and tried to ask me. It was nothing. But I felt they knew. They were saying things like, "Hurt ka sah?" and so forth. Yep, I was. WTFS. Mixed emotions. I tried to hide. I tried to hide it with smiles and laughs.

But I know I can't hide things for so long. I can't. That would be impossible. Got home and let HER knew about it. Yeah, that's it. Her last text was the cue. I burst into tears. And sat motionless. I cried. And I can't believe it. She had nothing to be sorry for. Nothing.

I guess people should be exposed to this kind of things as early as teenage. But these mold us to be stronger and more passionate in the search of true happiness. As of now, I don't know. I don't know if its time to let go or if its time that I act...

The Josenian family may have declined in terms of population but we can assure that talents and potentials have come yet again to the walls of the campus. To attest to this is the Pakighimamat 2008 activity which was held last June 27,2008 at the Recoletos Coliseum.

The program started with the welcome address by our very own Rev. Fr. Anthony Murillo, OAR. Later, the high school principal gave her message and introduced to the freshmen the H.S. Faculty and Staff with 13 new members. In the limelight are the freshmen with their tradition-bound dance number. The song was to the tune of Please Don't Stop the Music by the sensational singer Rihanna. The first years then jived and moved to every beat of the song. But what moved and greatly entertained the highschool students was the surprise number of some faculty teachers. Depicting scenes from the hit show Kung Fu Kids, the teachers amused and amazed the students in the audience. The program ended with the community singing of the alma mater song.

This is another year with another batch of students. And I bet, we would be making good friends with this year's freshmen.

GET CYBERSMART!

Last Thursday, June 28, personnel from Vibal Publishing House, Inc. went to the USJ-R Basak Campus to promote their Cybersmart campaign for young internet enthusiasts. Selected students from the second year to the third year levels to participate in the event. A seminar was conducted about the "old" and the "new" media. The new media being the "in-thing" of today, the internet. The students were oriented about the websites of the Vibal Foundation which is something we should be proud of. The foundation was able to organize a 'wiki' in the Filipino language, a digital library with countless novels by Filipinos, and an all-around website featuring entertainment, lifestyle, leisure, weather, and news.

The school year has barely started and we're not even a month-old in our classrooms. But pressure is pressing it's way in to our once-calm consciences. Yes, FOURTH YEARS, the thesis madness has just began and that means work and work and lots of work!

The word may demand fear and perhaps, laziness from us but we know we can do it. It is just one of those same old things we're required to do to pass the subject. And there's nothing we cannot overcome. So fight, fight, fight and get ready for CHAPTERS 2, 3, and 4! Haha!
